一、比較級 than 不定代詞（any／other／the other）
1．比較級 than the
others（or：any other 名詞復(fù)數(shù)）
English is more widely used than the others．英語比其他（語言）使用得更廣泛。
Li Lei ran much faster than the other boys．李磊比其他男生跑得快得多。
2．比較級 than any
others（or：any other 名詞單數(shù)）
The new reporter does everything more carefully than any others．那個新來的記者無論做什么都比別的記者仔細(xì)。
I think Chinese is more popular than any other subject．我認(rèn)為漢語比任何別的科目更受歡迎。
3．比較級 than anybody（anything）else
He thought the Prime Minister a wise, honest man who was fitter for his office than anyone else．他認(rèn)為丞相是個聰明、誠實的人，他比任何人都稱職。
Elizabeth loved music than anything else．伊麗莎白熱愛音樂勝過一切。
4．比較級 than sb．／sth．a(chǎn)nd sb．／sth．
Mike draws more slowly than Tom and John．邁克比湯姆和約翰畫得都慢。
Kate's skirt is more beautiful than mine and my sister's．凱特的裙子比我的和我妹妹的都漂亮。
5．比較級 than any
of the others（or：any of the other 名詞復(fù)數(shù)）
The horse was lame because with one foot he left a track much lighter than any of the others．這匹馬腿瘸，因為它一只蹄子留下的蹄印比別的蹄印淺得多。
He speaks English better than any of the other boys in his class．在班里他的英語講得比其他任何男孩都好。
6．no（no one，nobody，nothing）… 比較級… than
Nobody（No one）can speaks French more fluently
than the returned studentin this department．在這個系里誰也沒有那個歸國留學(xué)生法語講得流利。
We went no farther than the bridge．我們走到橋邊就不再向前走了。
Nothing in the world is more expensive than his those books．沒有比他的那些書更珍貴的了。
7．比較級 than all
the others
This TV set is bigger than all the others．這臺電視機比別的都大。
8．no other… 比較級 than
No other boy is more diligent than he in the class．在班里沒有別的男孩比他更用功的了。
二、少數(shù)幾個表示極限方位處所的名詞（兼作形容詞）
1．top n．頂點、頂端 adj．頭等的、最高的
If we won this match，we would be top！如果我們贏了這場比賽，我們將是冠軍。
She chose a top horse and took a ride around the hill．她選了一匹頭等的馬，然后騎上馬繞小山兜了一圈。
2．bottom n．底，盡頭 adj．最底部的、最后的
Who came bottom in the exam？這次考試誰墊底？
3．peak n．高峰、頂點 adj．高峰的、最高的
Traffic accidents reach their peak at the weekends．周末的交通事故發(fā)生的次數(shù)最頻繁。
三、單數(shù)主語 部分介詞（短語） 復(fù)數(shù)名詞
1．a(chǎn)head of 復(fù)數(shù)名詞
He runs ahead of all the other boys．他跑在所有別的男孩的前頭。
2．than（連詞） 復(fù)數(shù)名詞
She draws better than we all．她畫得比我們大家都好。
3．before 復(fù)數(shù)名詞
The disabled boy always comes to school before everyone else．那個殘疾的男孩來?？偸潜劝嗬锲渌藖淼迷?。
4．a(chǎn)mong 復(fù)數(shù)名詞
She is a pearl among women．她在女同胞中是個佼佼者。
5．over 復(fù)數(shù)名詞
The general is over us in the office．這位將軍的職務(wù)比我們都高。
另外，“only（或right） 名詞”也可以表示“最……”的概念。例如：
She is the only person for the job．她是這項工作的最佳人選。
For this position，the learned is the right man．就這個職位來說，那個學(xué)者是最佳人選。
